Sri Vaman Jayanti is believed to be the day when Lord Vishnu appeared as Vamana incarnation. Lord Vamana (a dwarf) is the fifth of the 10 Avatars (incarnations) of Lord Vishnu. The arrival of Vaman was a divine intervention to help Devas (Demi gods) who had lost their power to King Bali.
